How to wear cufflinks

1. Wear the correct shirt. Put on a dress shirt with French (or Double) cuffs. This sort of shirt has extra long cuffs with no buttons and holes on each side.

2. Fold back the cuffs, making sure that they form a neat and even line at the end of the sleeves.

3. Hold the two open edges of the shirt cuff together. Unlike cuffs with buttons where one side of the cuff folds inside the other, with cufflinks, the two sides lay flat away from the wrist.

4. Make sure the holes for the cufflink line up.

5. Insert the cufflink and secure it. When your arm is at your side, the decorative part of the cuff link should be facing outwards.

Interesting facts about cufflinks

Fact #1: Cufflinks were first worn back in the 17th century.

Fact #2: Cufflinks were originally introduced as an alternative to using ribbon and string for tying cuffs together.

Fact #3: The most expensive cufflinks ever were sold at auction for $440,000 in 1987. They were previously given as a gift from Wallis Simpson to her future husband soon be King Edward VIII.

Fact #4: The world's largest cufflink museum can be found in Conway, New Hampshire, which proudly displays over 70,000 pairs.

Fact #5: During the 1920s the enamel cufflink became the most prevalent style.

Brief history of cufflinks

Cufflinks were first introduced in the 17th century, and have since been at the forefront of the fashion industry. A symbol of elegance and style, cufflinks beautifully complement a tuxedo and formal attire, and in the modern day french cuff shirts.

It was during the reign of Louis XIV that shirt sleeves started to be fastened with boutons de manchette, or “sleeve buttons,” typically identical pairs of colored glass buttons joined together by a short, linked chain.

What to Do:

2. Our expert designers will help to create sample indicative artwork based upon your image, and a quote will be provided by us. Please see below for example indicative artwork created by our designers:

3.  Once you have approved your design, we will organise payment with you. Upon confirmation of payment, we will begin manufacture immediately.
4.  We will keep you informed and up to date with progress regarding the manufacture and completion date of your cufflinks.
5.  Upon completion of manufacture, your cufflinks will be delivered to your nominated shipping address.
